Ludwig Hoffmann Quartier

(2015) | Whispering Wall Exposition at the Ludwig Hoffmann Quarter

At the Ludwig Hoffmann Quarter in Berlin-Buch, right at the centre of what was Europe’s largest hospital about a century ago, lays the empty and deserted Haus 20. As a forgotten monument, standing in between already renovated houses, it is a reminder of the history of the premises.

During the ‘Kultur Tage Buch 2015’, the dutch artist Albert Raven will be showing three audio-works at this building, which are part of his project ‘Whispering Wall’.

For Haus 20 Raven wrote and produced the works DEDUCTION, GRENZGÄNGER and ENTTÄUSCHUNG, which lead to a unique encounter with the building and its history.

The Whispering Wall merges with the building; its sounds mix with those of and in the building. When you walk through the building, it affects not only what you hear, but also what you see and what you think. It makes you wonder about what was or might have been, what is or might be.
